Our client, a well-known nonprofit organization, is seeking an Accessibility Designer to join their team. This is a project-based engagement with one initial project and more to follow if all goes well! The initial project will focus on building a PowerPoint template from the ground up, ensuring accessibility best practices are incorporated from the start. This individual will help establish design standards and create a suite of branded templates that balance visual consistency with accessibility requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design and build an accessible PowerPoint template from the ground up
- Establish presentation design standards, including color palettes, typography, layouts, and content hierarchy
- Create a variety of master slide layouts, including title slides, divider pages, text-focused pages, and standard content -templates
- Ensure templates are optimized for accessibility, including considerations for screen readers, color contrast, readability, and ADA/WCAG compliance
- Advise on accessibility best practices across presentation, PDF, and other static document formats
- Partner with creative and brand stakeholders to integrate accessibility into future design systems and templates Requirements:
- Strong experience designing accessible digital and print materials
- Deep understanding of accessibility best practices and compliance standards (ADA, WCAG)
- Experience creating accessible PowerPoint templates and presentation systems
- Knowledge of screen reader compatibility, document structure, color contrast, typography, and inclusive design principles
- Ability to translate accessibility requirements into practical, user-friendly design solutions Nice to Have:
- Experience with accessible PDFs, InDesign documents, and broader brand systems
- Background supporting enterprise or nonprofit organizations through accessibility initiatives In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. Benefits
