What will you do

As an Occupational Health and Safety Advisor at Ter AA, you will ensure that students, employees, and visitors can count on a safe and healthy learning and working environment. You are the specialist in occupational health, safety, and risk management and advise on this within the entire organization.

You will work within the Housing & Facilities department. This department is responsible for all facility services within Ter AA, from building management and safety to technical facilities, catering, and cleaning. In this temporary role, you will replace a colleague who is absent due to illness. You will work closely with HR, management, educational teams, and external experts to not only draw up safety policy but also to actually apply it in daily practice.

• Carrying out the Risk Inventory & Evaluation (RI&E) and drawing up and monitoring the associated action plan.
• Identifying risks through inspection rounds and safety checks.
• Advising employees and managers on occupational health, safety, and working conditions issues.
• Investigating incidents and near misses and translating findings into improvement measures.
• Developing, implementing, and updating safety policy, safety plans, and procedures.
• Contributing to the further development of the Emergency Response (BHV) organization and digital safety systems.
• Providing information, instructions, and workplace advice on, among other things, fire safety, ergonomics, and psychosocial workload.
• Guiding applications for adapted workplaces and facilities.
• Leading or supporting projects in the field of occupational health and safety.
• Drawing up and monitoring the Occupational Health and Safety annual plan in collaboration with HR.
• Maintaining contacts with internal and external experts, supervisors, and educational institutions.
• Bachelor's work and thinking level, preferably in Integral Safety Science, Occupational Health, Safety, or similar.
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations in the field of working conditions and safety.
• Experience with carrying out RI&E processes and drawing up action plans.
• Affinity with safety issues within an educational environment.
• Experience with incident investigation and implementing preventive measures is a plus.
• Strong advisory and communication skills.
• Experience in providing instructions, training, and information.
• An independent, proactive, and solution-oriented attitude.
• The ability to maintain an overview, set priorities, and monitor progress.
