AI Engineer C

Project overview

As an AI Engineer, you will contribute to the further development of Rabobank's RAG platform.

Profile of the suited interim professional:

• Identifying areas for improvement in the retrieval-augmented generation system
• Designing experiments to increase answer quality
• Translating research results into measurable improvements in production
• Guiding the entire process from error analysis to performance monitoring
• Using user feedback and production telemetry to improve quality
• Collaborating with Software Engineers, Platform Engineers, and Data Scientists
• Analyzing quality differences in generated answers
• Improving automated evaluation frameworks
• Conducting large-scale experiments with chunking and embedding strategies
• Building feedback loops to address system weaknesses
• Master's degree or comparable academic level in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in machine learning, applied AI, or data science
• Demonstrable experience with improving production RAG systems or advanced retrieval-based AI solutions
• Experience with setting up evaluation methodologies and quality metrics
• Proven ability to translate analyses into automated production solutions
• Experience with large datasets and complex distributed environments
• Ability to communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Good command of English, both written and spoken
• Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Experience with Python, Databricks, and evaluation frameworks for GenAI systems
• Knowledge of embedding models, prompt optimization, and data pipelines
• Experience with CI/CD practices and Azure
