AI-Native Fullstack Developer (Python)

Project overview

We’re looking for a software engineer who knows how to get things done in an AI-driven development environment.

At Kruko, AI agents are a core part of how we build software. We use Claude Code extensively across development, testing, debugging, code review and everyday engineering workflows.

We’re not looking for someone who simply uses AI to generate snippets of code. We want someone who can turn complex problems into working solutions by combining technical knowledge, independent thinking, creativity and effective use of AI agents. We value adaptability, problem-solving and ownership more than the number of lines of code you can write by hand.

AI handles a significant part of the implementation work. Engineers stay responsible for architecture, correctness, security, verification and delivery. We encourage experimentation and independent thinking. We don’t expect you to follow one rigid workflow; we expect you to build an effective one and keep improving it.

• Design, develop and maintain web applications using Python and modern frontend technologies
• Use Claude Code and AI agents as a primary part of your workflow, from understanding requirements to implementation, testing and delivery
• Break down complex features into manageable tasks and coordinate AI-assisted workflows to deliver them efficiently
• Own features end-to-end: technical decisions, implementation, testing, debugging and production readiness
• Design and integrate REST APIs, external services and LLM-powered functionality
• Work with relational databases, Docker and existing deployment infrastructure
• Investigate problems independently, find root causes and deliver reliable fixes rather than temporary workarounds
• Continuously improve your workflows, tools and automation to speed up development without compromising quality
• Collaborate with developers, QA and product teams, and proactively flag risks, gaps and opportunities for improvement
• Practical experience delivering production software using Python and modern backend frameworks. We care about engineering fundamentals, not framework-specific expertise
• Hands-on experience with Claude Code or comparable agentic coding tools in real development work
• Ability to organise effective AI-assisted workflows: task planning, context management, implementation, testing and verification
• Solid understanding of backend architecture, REST APIs and relational databases
• Practical experience with Docker, Git and modern development workflows
• Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML and CSS (React or Vue is a plus)
• Enough engineering knowledge to critically evaluate AI-generated code and spot incorrect assumptions, security, performance and maintainability risks
• Strong ownership, independence and initiative: you take responsibility for results and can work through ambiguity
• Excellent problem-solving skills, adaptability, curiosity and an efficiency-oriented mindset
• Clear communication and the ability to work in an international team
• Availability to work on a Pacific Time (PT) schedule

Nice to have

We care more about your ability to solve real problems and deliver working software than about years of experience or a long list of technologies.

• Experience building custom Claude Code workflows, subagents, skills or development automation
• Experience coordinating multiple AI agents or parallel development tasks
• Experience with LLM integrations, OpenAI APIs, Twilio or similar services
• Knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing and cloud infrastructure
• Experience with complex business applications and large existing codebases
