First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Assembler on behalf of one of our clients.

This role is predominantly a practical hands-on role. Supporting various teams & facilities in the provision of mechanical engineering services and assisting in the delivery of mechanical engineering project.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers, technicians and skilled workers with daily tasks.
• Load, unload, move and organise materials and equipment.
• Prepare work areas, materials and equipment for engineering activities.
• Carry out general cleaning and housekeeping duties in the work areas.
• Assist with basic assembly, dismantling, as supervised.
• Use basic hand tools and equipment safely when trained and authorised.
• Follow company health and safety procedures and correctly use required PPE.
• Report hazards, damaged equipment, or maintenance issues to supervisors.
• Assist with deliveries and storage of materials.
• Work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors.

Requirements

• Previous experience in an engineering, manufacturing, construction workshop, or similar environment is desirable.
• Good practical and manual skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Physically capable of carrying out manual work and handling materials.
• Basic understanding of workplace health and safety.
• BPSS Security Clearance or the ability to obtain this.
