Senior Backend Developer (Golang)

A client in the on-demand delivery sector is building an in-house chat platform that unifies messaging for several delivery brands under a single technology stack. The platform is the central hub for support associates, customers, couriers, and merchants, and it handles around 7-8 billion messages a year. They're looking for a senior backend developer to take ownership of a complex service with critical core logic and help migrate the platform to the latest tech stack.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of complex backend services and drive end-to-end technical deliverables independently
• Migrate existing high-traffic backend services and business logic to the unified core tech stack
• Maintain, optimize, and scale the high-load messaging platform to keep it highly available
• Collaborate closely with backend, frontend, and mobile engineers across distributed locations
• Document solutions, align on task scopes, and communicate technical decisions within the team

• Senior-level software engineering experience
• Strong Golang proficiency, the primary requirement
• Hands-on experience with high-load, distributed systems
• Database optimization experience
• Practical knowledge of AWS cloud architecture and infrastructure
• Autonomous and self-organized, able to drive end-to-end projects with minimal oversight
• Excellent communication and alignment skills
• Commitment to delivering clean, scalable, high-quality engineering output
• Experience with Node.js and/or Kotlin
• Background in scalable messaging architecture, support tools, case creation, or routing systems

As soon as possible, earliest November 1st

6-9 months

Helsinki preferred, onsite 3-4 days a week at the office
