Assignment Description

We are looking for three Senior Backend Engineers for different teams within a large-scale digital platform. The roles have different focus areas but all work with central backend services and systems that need to be reliable, scalable, and efficient.

Role 1 – Access & Content Delivery

In this role, you will work with backend services that make decisions about the availability and access to digital content and features. The focus is on further developing and simplifying access logic, improving robustness and operational reliability, and optimizing, among other things, caching and cache invalidation. You will work with systems where decisions need to be made quickly, correctly, and consistently at scale.

Role 2 – Content Catalog

Here you will work with central backend services, APIs, and data flows for managing content information. The role has a clear focus on understanding product needs, designing technical solutions, and coordinating changes between multiple teams. You may work with, for example, integrations, migrations, and improvements of existing services, taking responsibility from analysis and technical design to implementation, testing, and handover.

Role 3 – Metadata & Content Delivery

In the third role, you will work with backend services that deliver metadata and other content information to various digital user experiences. The focus is on high throughput and low latency, as well as on streamlining delivery through, among other things, better caching, fewer redundant calls, and increased insight into traffic and costs. You will work closely with other developers on roadmaps, code reviews, and technical improvements.

Common to all roles is that you need to be comfortable quickly familiarizing yourself with existing codebases and technical environments, working independently, and collaborating with multiple development teams. You are expected to be able to contribute to technical choices and communicate solutions, trade-offs, and dependencies clearly.

You collaborate well across teams, quickly build trust, and communicate technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are comfortable with unclear prerequisites and can independently identify which efforts yield the greatest impact.

Consultants can work 100% remotely within Sweden.

• You have solid experience in developing and operating backend services and APIs in large-scale production environments.
• You have very good knowledge of a backend programming language such as Java, Scala, Go, or similar.
• You have experience with API design, schema development, and backward compatibility.
• You have experience with data modeling with a focus on traceability, version management, and efficient searches.
• You have experience with data pipelines and an understanding of real-time and batch processing.
• You are accustomed to quickly familiarizing yourself with new codebases and technical areas.
• You have an understanding of compliance-sensitive environments and how technical solutions affect regulations, policies, and subsequent processes.
