Jobbeschreibung

Project overview

Costello & Reyes Group Ltd has been engaged by its client, a global defence firm, to identify a Becrypt SME for an initial 6 months engagement. You will need to be a UK National and hold SC Clearance.

We are seeking an experienced Becrypt Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the implementation, configuration, management, optimisation and ongoing technical assurance of Becrypt security solutions within a secure IT environment.

The successful candidate will provide specialist technical expertise across the relevant Becrypt products and technologies, working closely with infrastructure, endpoint engineering, cyber security, architecture and operational support teams.

The role will involve understanding the existing technical environment, assessing current configurations, supporting deployment and integration activities, resolving complex technical issues and ensuring that the Becrypt solution operates effectively within the wider IT and security architecture.

The SME will also contribute to technical documentation, operational procedures, knowledge transfer and the development of sustainable support capabilities, helping ensure that the organisation can effectively manage and maintain the solution over the longer term.

Given the nature of the environment, experience working within security-sensitive, regulated or tightly controlled IT infrastructures would be advantageous.

The initial engagement will run for six months, with the possibility of extension depending on project requirements, progress and ongoing business needs.

A. Becrypt Technical Expertise

Act as the primary technical subject matter expert for the relevant Becrypt products and solutions deployed within the client environment. Provide specialist advice on Becrypt architecture, product capabilities, configuration options, deployment considerations and operational requirements. Develop a detailed understanding of the existing Becrypt implementation, including its design, dependencies, integrations and operational constraints. Review existing configurations and identify opportunities to improve security, performance, stability, manageability and supportability.

Advise on product compatibility, supported configurations, software versions, upgrades, patches and technical dependencies. Work with the client and relevant technical stakeholders to resolve complex Becrypt-related incidents and technical challenges. Liaise with Becrypt technical support and product specialists where required to investigate issues, obtain guidance and support resolution.

B. Technical Architecture and Solution Design

Review the existing technical architecture and establish how Becrypt fits within the wider IT infrastructure and security architecture. Assess the solution's dependencies on endpoint operating systems, hardware, network connectivity, identity services, management platforms and other security controls, as applicable to the deployed product. Support the development and maintenance of technical architecture documentation, configuration baselines and implementation designs. Assess proposed architectural changes and determine their potential impact on the Becrypt solution and associated security controls.

Provide technical recommendations to support future-state architecture, service improvement and operational resilience. Identify technical risks, design constraints and dependencies that could affect implementation, performance or service continuity. Ensure proposed configurations and changes align with the client's technical standards, security policies and operational requirements.

C. Deployment, Configuration and Integration

Support the deployment, configuration and ongoing maintenance of Becrypt solutions across the relevant endpoint or infrastructure estate. Assist with the development and validation of deployment plans, implementation procedures and configuration standards. Support pilot deployments, technical testing and controlled rollout activities. Investigate deployment failures, configuration inconsistencies and compatibility issues. Work with endpoint engineering and infrastructure teams to ensure the solution integrates effectively with existing management and security technologies.

Support the implementation of configuration changes, software updates and upgrades in accordance with approved change management processes. Validate that deployments and configuration changes achieve the intended technical and security outcomes. Provide guidance on rollback procedures, recovery arrangements and contingency planning where required.

D. Troubleshooting and Technical Problem Management

Act as the escalation point for complex technical issues relating to Becrypt products and their integration with the wider environment. Investigate incidents involving deployment, configuration, compatibility, connectivity, endpoint operation or other product-specific issues. Undertake structured root-cause analysis and document findings, contributing factors and recommended corrective actions. Work collaboratively with infrastructure, service desk, security operations and third-party support teams to resolve issues. Identify recurring incidents and recommend measures to reduce repeat occurrences.

Support problem management activities, including the development of known-error records, workarounds and technical resolution procedures. Provide clear technical updates to project managers, service owners and relevant stakeholders. Ensure technical resolutions are appropriately documented and incorporated into operational knowledge repositories.

E. Cyber Security and Technical Assurance

Review configurations and deployment practices to identify potential security weaknesses or deviations from approved baselines. Contribute to security risk assessments and recommend proportionate remediation measures. Support the maintenance of secure configurations and the controlled management of changes to the solution. Assist with the investigation of security-related events or issues involving Becrypt technologies.

Provide technical input into vulnerability management, patching, software lifecycle management and remediation activities, where applicable. Support the collection of technical evidence required for security assurance, internal governance and relevant compliance activities. Work with cyber security and assurance teams to ensure the solution's intended security functions remain effective. Ensure that technical recommendations take account of the sensitivity of the environment, information classification requirements and applicable security policies.

F. Change, Release and Configuration Management

Provide specialist technical input into change requests affecting the Becrypt solution. Assess the potential impact of proposed changes on service availability, security, interoperability and operational support. Support the planning and execution of upgrades, configuration changes and technical releases. Assist with pre-implementation testing, post-implementation validation and rollback planning. Maintain accurate records of relevant configurations, software versions, dependencies and changes. Ensure implementation activities follow the client's change management and approval processes.

Support the development of repeatable deployment and configuration procedures to improve consistency and reduce operational risk.

G. Documentation and Knowledge Transfer

Review and update technical documentation relating to the Becrypt implementation. Produce and maintain configuration guides, deployment procedures, troubleshooting guides, technical designs and operational runbooks. Document known issues, dependencies, workarounds and recommended resolution procedures. Ensure documentation accurately reflects the deployed solution and agreed operating model. Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to internal support teams and other technical stakeholders. Support the development of sustainable operational capabilities to reduce reliance on individual specialists.

Provide handover documentation and recommendations ahead of the conclusion of the engagement or any transition to an ongoing support arrangement.

H. Stakeholder and Supplier Engagement

Work closely with infrastructure, endpoint engineering, cyber security, architecture, service management and project delivery teams. Engage with relevant third-party suppliers and technical support teams to resolve issues and support delivery objectives. Translate complex technical matters into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Provide technical updates on progress, risks, issues, dependencies and proposed resolutions.
