who you are

To perform this job well, you, as IT Category Manager, meet the following requirements:

• you speak Dutch and English
• you are available forty hours per week
• you are willing to work in Rotterdam
• you have at least five years of experience in Procurement, Category Management, or Strategic Sourcing
• you have experience with IT-related procurement processes, software, SaaS solutions, and license agreements
• you have experience with RFI, RFP, and vendor selection processes and contract management

Responsibilities

In this role, you will take the lead over various IT categories, ensuring an optimal balance between costs, quality, and risks.

You will work at Van Oord, a leading international player in the maritime and offshore sector. The head office is located in Rotterdam, but there is ample room for working from home.

About your work environment:

• you independently conduct complete RFI, RFP, and vendor selection processes for strategic IT issues
• you negotiate sharply on contracts, framework agreements, and licenses for software and SaaS solutions
• you maintain and build strategic relationships with suppliers and external stakeholders
• you analyze the IT market and monitor price developments and market risks to capitalize on improvement opportunities
• you optimize procurement processes and make an active contribution to sustainability and innovation
• you share your acquired knowledge and act as a sparring partner for less experienced colleagues in the organization
• you professionally represent Van Oord towards international suppliers and market parties
• you will be part of a professional and driven procurement team of approximately 15 colleagues
