Assignment Description

Together with your colleagues, you will work on the Emma Platform that the Public Prosecution Service develops itself. Your role as a versatile, experienced IT architect involves designing, implementing, and ensuring the quality of solutions built with the Be Informed platform. Additionally, you will lead projects or act as an advisor for the project team. You will actively contribute to knowledge sharing of best practices for the various project teams. You will spend a lot of time on innovation, improvement, support, and knowledge sharing.

An additional challenge is that the IT environment of the Public Prosecution Service is constantly changing. Therefore, you will contribute to the best configuration of the Be Informed platform, so that we maintain a qualitative and stable environment in the long term. You will contribute to the quality and collaboration of the Agile/DevOps team. You have a strong affinity with technology and are able to understand technical integrations and their workings that the team delivers. You possess good communication and social skills, are flexible, creative, accurate, and have empathy.

Background of the assignment

The College of Prosecutors-General of the Public Prosecution Service commissioned an OM Information Strategy and multi-year plan 2020-2027 in 2020: the Business + Information Plan OM (BIPOM). The BIPOM sets the goal of having one uniform working method by 2027, supported by one modular case management system for all case flows within criminal law. This involves supporting work processes currently supported by 7 different case management systems.

This means that all Public Prosecution Service offices will work so uniformly that everyone can use the same case management system, without local exceptions or technical workarounds.

The EMMA project implements the strategy described in the BIPOM and aims to replace the 7 case systems and standardize the work processes within the Public Prosecution Service. Within the Emma program, we are working on renewing the digitalization of the work processes for the entire Public Prosecution Service. An important part of this renewal is ensuring the quality of solutions and the (Be Informed) platform. That is why we are looking for a Solution Architect who will be deployed in the Emma Program at the Information Provision Public Prosecution Service (IVOM) in Utrecht.

The Solution Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and ensuring the quality of solutions built with the Be Informed platform. The solution architect leads projects and is responsible for active knowledge sharing within various project teams, and works closely with the development teams within the Emma program.

• Assessing requirements for consistency and quality;
• Designing and implementing solutions using the platform in the areas of business design, integrations, and deployment architecture;
• Presenting and justifying solution design(s) to stakeholders within the Public Prosecution Service, bridging the gap between business and IT interests;
• Defining and managing the solution scope (in collaboration with project management);
• Involved and responsible for all aspects in projects: analysis, UI design, implementation (AMS, UI, integrations, security), testing, and delivery;
• Supporting and coaching project teams to enable them to effectively use the Be Informed platform;
• Acting as a point of contact (at a tactical level) for the Be Informed Design Office.
