Background of the assignment

The Commando Lucht- en Ruimtestrijdkrachten (CLRS) is working on a robust and cyber-secure IT infrastructure that supports Multi-Domain Operations and Information-Driven Operations. The program is entering a new phase with the launch of several projects to further develop the platform and achieve CLRS's strategic ambitions. You will work within the Staff of the Commando Lucht- en Ruimtestrijdkrachten, where policy is determined and the organization is managed.

The program falls under the Projects & Innovation Directorate (DP&I), which strengthens CLRS's innovation and change capacity and contributes to strategic objectives.

The duty station is Breda/The Hague. Additionally, you will regularly visit other CLRS locations to maintain direct contact with stakeholders, project teams, and program management.

Generic description of competence area and levels

Constructs and executes systematic test procedures for ICT systems or customer user applications to establish conformity with design specifications. Ensures that new or revised components or systems perform as expected. Ensures compliance with internal, external, national, and international standards; including health and safety, usability, performance, reliability, or compatibility. Produces documents and reports for certification requirements.

Summary of task and mission

Maintains and repairs hardware, software, and service applications. Effectively maintains customer hardware/software. Responsible for delivering timely and effective repairs to ensure optimal system performance and superior customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Identify software and hardware problems and repair

Perform regular maintenance on hardware and software components

Install cables and configure hardware and software

Document system addresses and configurations

Run diagnostic programs or use test equipment to trace the source of problems

Communicate effectively with end-users and customer management

Maintain security and functionality by applying temporary program solutions

Requirements

eCF profile: Technical Specialist

Reference Area: B.03 Testing

This assignment is based on the European e-Competence Framework (e-CF). This is a European standard for describing IT competencies and the associated level of responsibility. The eCF profile indicates which competencies and at what level (e-1 to e-5) are expected from the candidate. We expect candidates to clearly demonstrate in their CV that they possess these competencies. This can be done by describing for each relevant assignment or position:

CVs in which the required eCF competencies are not demonstrably present cannot be fully assessed for suitability.

Candidate has at least 3 years of demonstrable work experience with the chosen eCF profile in a similar role.

Candidate has demonstrable work experience within the Ministry of Defence.

Furthermore, the candidate possesses the following experience, knowledge, and type of citizenship/nationality:

Dutch or American nationality

HBO/WO thinking level

Knowledge of techniques such as VMware vSphere, Commvault, Scality, Powershell, AWS, Azure

Experience with Agile working methods (Scrum, Kanban, DevOps, SAFe)
