Cloud Platform Engineer

Project overview

As part of a strategic project within the energy sector, the mission takes place in a Belgian, German, and European environment undergoing transformation. The consultant will work alongside other providers and internal teams to contribute to a sustainable, reliable, and green transition-oriented energy infrastructure.

Mission

The mission consists of collaborating with other engineers to develop, implement, and manage cloud solutions within the organization. The role primarily focuses on building and maintaining an automated infrastructure for an Azure Cloud environment and a Kubernetes platform, with activities including provisioning, configuration, and monitoring of cloud resources via Terraform.

Main Responsibilities

Technical Environment

• Develop, test, debug, and resolve incidents on containerized infrastructure
• Build CI/CD pipeline configurations to orchestrate the provisioning and deployment of small and large-scale systems
• Ensure well-designed, maintainable solutions are delivered on time
• Collaborate with business and engineering teams to deploy new infrastructure on the Azure platform
• Monitor the availability, latency, and overall health of systems
• Resolve incidents in development, test, and production environments
• Communicate progress and risks to product and management teams
• Automate and streamline operations and processes
• Participate in on-call rotations according to operational policy when required (24/7)
• Write and validate processes and documentation
• Present and discuss proposed solutions to a technical audience
• Provide pragmatic approaches, prioritizing solution simplicity
• Cloud: Microsoft Azure, IaaS, PaaS, landing zones, cloud-native security, Well-Architected Framework
• Containers and Orchestration: Docker, Azure Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD
• Infrastructure as Code / Automation: Terraform, OpenTofu, Bicep, Ansible
• DevOps / GitOps: CI/CD, infra-as-code, config-as-code, policy-as-code, pipelines, container repositories
• Data: Azure Data Factory, Databricks
• Observability: Grafana, Prometheus, logging, monitoring, observability tools
• Scripting: Bash, PowerShell, CLI, Python
• Network and Security: subnets, routing, load balancing, firewalls, cloud security
