Cloud & Platform Specialist (Microsoft Azure)

We are looking for an experienced Cloud & Platform Specialist with strong hands-on Microsoft Azure engineering and architecture experience to support a major enterprise cloud transformation programme for a leading provider of business technology solutions across the Energy, Public and Finance sectors.

You will play a key role in designing, engineering and migrating enterprise infrastructure into Microsoft Azure, working across Azure Landing Zones, networking, identity, virtual desktop, compute and storage. You will work alongside the Lead Cloud & Platform Architect, managed service providers and technical delivery teams to ensure cloud solutions are secure, scalable and aligned with established architectural standards.

What You Will Ideally Bring:

Contract Details

• Design, engineer and implement Microsoft Azure infrastructure solutions, including Azure Landing Zones, governance, Azure Policy and enterprise cloud architecture
• Configure and optimise Azure networking, including Virtual WAN (vWAN), ExpressRoute, VPN connectivity, DNS, Firewalls and Private Endpoints
• Support enterprise Azure migration programmes, including workload discovery, assessment, migration planning and execution using Azure Migrate
• Design and support Azure identity and access solutions, including Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, RBAC and hybrid identity integration
• Engineer and optimise Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Azure VMs, GPU/HPC workloads and enterprise compute environments
• Deliver enterprise storage and data migration solutions, including Azure Storage, NAS, Nasuni and large-scale infrastructure migrations
• Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell and Azure CLI
• Implement Azure security, monitoring, backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure platform resilience and operational readiness
• Act as a technical point of reference for managed service providers, suppliers and infrastructure delivery teams, supporting technical assurance and implementation
• Produce technical documentation, contribute to solution designs and ensure successful handover into operational support
• Extensive experience in cloud or infrastructure engineering, with significant recent hands-on Microsoft Azure experience
• Proven delivery experience across enterprise Azure migrations, ideally within MSP or supplier-led environments
• Strong knowledge of Azure Landing Zones, Azure Policy, governance and cloud platform architecture
• Hands-on Azure networking experience, particularly Virtual WAN (vWAN), ExpressRoute, VPNs, hybrid connectivity and Private Endpoints
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, RBAC, DNS and hybrid identity environments
• Experience designing, deploying or supporting Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
• Practical knowledge of Azure compute, virtual machines, enterprise storage, NAS/Nasuni and large-scale data migration
• Infrastructure as Code and automation experience using Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell or Azure CLI
• Experience with Azure Migrate, Azure Monitor, backup, disaster recovery and operational support
• Microsoft Azure certifications, ideally AZ-104 and/or AZ-700
• Additional certifications such as AZ-305, AZ-500 or AZ-140, Zero Trust awareness, AWS exposure or experience within energy, regulated or critical national infrastructure environments (desirable)
