Assignment Description

For projects at the RWZI Nieuwgraaf location, we are looking for an experienced contract manager. A large, multidisciplinary construction project is being carried out at the location based on a UAV contract, which has been tendered to the market through specifications.

Given the scale and complexity of the project, thorough experience with contract management within large construction projects at RWZIs or in a comparable technical environment is essential.

The Assignment

The contract manager is responsible for contract management within the project and, based on this responsibility, fulfills the contract management role in accordance with the IPM model. The contract manager is a full member of the IPM team and the construction management team and forms the link between technology, execution, procurement, legal advice, and project control.

The contract manager actively contributes to professional collaboration with contractors, without losing sight of the client's interests.

You have a sense for the balance between being commercially sharp and maintaining the necessary good relationship with construction partners.

The assignment includes, among other things:

The assignment is for 12 to 16 hours per week. The deployment of hours should be flexible during the work week. It is expected that the contract manager is available on Mondays and Thursdays, as the majority of project and coordination meetings take place on these days.

Function Requirements

• managing and administering ongoing contracts;
• monitoring compliance with contractual agreements;
• assessing, substantiating, and processing changes within ongoing contracts;
• preparing and entering into new contracts;
• guiding and executing tender procedures in accordance with applicable tender legislation and internal procurement procedures of a public client;
• drafting tender documents, contract documents, and assessment frameworks for new assignments;
• analyzing and interpreting contractual issues and questions;
• testing changes, proposals, and issues against current contractual agreements;
• identifying contractual and commercial risks and advising on them;
• ensuring clear, unambiguous, and legally well-founded communication towards construction and collaboration partners;
• working closely with the technical manager to effectively connect technical content and contractual agreements;
• participating in the construction management team and contributing to the management, decision-making, and control of the execution phase from a contract management perspective;
• participating in the IPM team and contributing to the integrated management of the project from your own discipline;
• monitoring the balance between commercially sharp contract management and a constructive working relationship with construction partners;
• steering towards preventing and limiting additional work and delays.
• HBO+/WO work and thinking level;
• Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience with contract management of complex projects;
• Experience with large and complex construction projects at RWZIs or in a highly comparable environment;
• Knowledge of and experience with the RAW system, UAV, and UAV-GC;
• A sharp, analytical, and commercial view of contracts and collaboration with construction partners;
• Good commercial skills;
• A proactive approach and the ability to independently analyze and interpret contractual issues and questions;
• The ability to translate contractual issues into clear, unambiguous, and legally well-founded communication;
• A meticulous approach and good skills in documenting agreements and findings;
• Good oral and written communication skills;
• A natural sense for administrative relationships and the ability to create support and convince internal and external stakeholders;
• The ability to effectively collaborate with the technical manager and other members of the IPM team;
• A sense for the balance between acting commercially sharp and maintaining a good working relationship with construction partners.
