Assignment Description

The call comprises 1 controller consultant for 100% of a full-time position. In your role as a controller within the Child and Education Administration, you will be responsible for supporting managers in various financial processes such as budgeting, forecasting, follow-up, closing, and analysis. You should have a holistic view of financial matters and work with a focus on the needs of the operations. You will collaborate closely with controllers, managers, and principals to ensure that financial decisions and actions are well-informed and strategic.

Accounting tasks may also be included in this assignment, such as balance account reconciliation, invoice posting, bookings, etc.

You will apply your broad financial expertise to act as an advisor and produce relevant documentation for managers in strategic analyses. An important part of your work is to actively participate in the planning and analysis process for the operations, as well as to communicate financial follow-up in a clear and understandable way to individuals without a financial background. Your role thus requires both strong analytical skills and communication skills.

Expected Outcome

Controller consultant with several years of experience in controller assignments. The consultant shall work on-site in Solna City for 100% of a full-time position to carry out the described assignment.

Project Organization

The consultant will belong to the finance unit. The finance unit is part of the administrative department and is led by the department manager Malin Svanström.

Remote Work

The assignment is expected to last for the specified contract period, and the consultant is expected to work on-site at Solna City Hall at least three days a week as agreed with the operations.

Handling of Personal Data

Yes, personal data will be handled in the form of personnel costs and reconciliation of various grants.

• University degree in economics or other education deemed equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of documented experience working as a controller or in a comparable qualified financial function.
• Experience of independent work with budgeting, forecasting, financial follow-up, and analysis.
• Experience of working with financial management and support for managers in larger organizations.
• Experience with the financial system Raindance.
• Experience of controller work within the municipal sector.
• Experience of financial management and financial follow-up within municipal child and education operations.
• Experience of independently being responsible for budget, forecast, closing, and financial follow-up for multiple operations or organizational units.
• Experience of working closely with operational managers and providing qualified financial support, as well as presenting financial analyses and decision-making documentation.
• Good knowledge of Excel
• Experience of developing financial follow-up models, reporting tools, or working methods within financial management.
• As a person, you need to be self-sufficient, results-oriented, and have a structured way of working. The role requires you to be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances. You are accustomed to and have the ability to work with many points of contact, where collaboration and relationship building are success factors.
