Are you experienced in customs, import/export or logistics and looking for an opportunity to take on greater responsibility?

We are recruiting a Traffic & Customs Manager to join a leading global manufacturing organisation in Desford. This is a highly visible operational role supporting a busy shipping function responsible for approximately 15,000 to 17,000 machines annually.

experience within manufacturing, logistics, transportation, freight forwarding or automotive environments would be particularly valuable. Previous management experience is not essential, and candidates looking to step up into greater responsibility will also be considered.

Job Title: Customs Manager

• Supporting day-to-day import, export and shipping operations.
• Ensuring customs processes and activities remain compliant.
• Helping the business achieve monthly shipping targets.
• Acting as a key point of contact for operational issues and escalations.
• Working closely with internal stakeholders and business leaders.
• Supporting safety, continuous improvement and facility projects.
• Contributing to material movement and logistics activities for new projects.
• Using Excel and ERP systems to support operational activities.
• Customs knowledge and compliance understanding.
• Import/export experience.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail.
• Ideally 3 to 5 years' experience within logistics, shipping, customs or a related operational environment.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills.
• Understanding of ERP systems.
• Confident communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to problem-solve and make decisions in a fast-moving environment.
