Cyber Security Consultant (SC Clearance, Government)

Initial 3 month contract (chance of extension) - £500 per day (outside IR35) - Fully remote

Our Government client have an immediate requitement for a Cyber Security Consultant (SC Clearance, Government) to join on an initial 3 month basis. To be successful, the applicant must have active SC clearance.

Due to the clients requirements, this role will be paid monthly rather than weekly.

Key experience for the Cyber Security Consultant (SC Clearance, Government):

• Significant experience working in cybersecurity, information assurance or security architecture roles, preferably within UK Government, the wider public sector or similarly regulated environments.
• Proven experience embedding security-by-design principles into complex technology projects.
• Demonstrable experience conducting end-to-end cybersecurity risk assessments, including threat identification, vulnerability analysis, risk scoring and risk treatment.
• Strong understanding of UK Government security policies, standards and information assurance requirements.
• Practical knowledge of NCSC guidance, cyber security principles and relevant government security standards.
• Experience developing and maintaining security risk registers, assurance plans and security documentation.
• Understanding of secure software development, DevSecOps and the integration of security into agile delivery methodologies.
• Experience working with technical teams to identify, assess and remediate security vulnerabilities.
• Ability to assess residual risks and provide recommendations to accountable business and technical risk owners.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical security risks to non-technical stakeholders.
