We are looking for an experienced Data Analyst with a focus on using BI tools like Power BI and/or Tableau.

Assignment Description

Data analysis aims to gather and analyze information to obtain decision-support information. The BI/data specialist is a role that is strongly developing due to the added value of data mining (big data). The BI/data specialist analyzes needs for (strategic or tactical) management information and creates queries that realize data mining and with which the requested information can be presented. This role is primarily close to the business.

You translate complex data into understandable insights that are directly applicable. 3W | WereldWijd Werken is a shared service organization positioned within BZ. 3W is increasingly an information-driven organization. 3W provides support to all employees of the Dutch government who reside abroad or in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom for short or long periods for the performance of their international function.

3W offers products and services in the areas of information and preparation for the employee and family members, relocations, allowances, medical examinations and vaccinations, business travel, diplomatic passports and visas, legal status of local staff, salary administration for local staff, personnel and salary administration for BZ employees, diplomatic post and goods transport, and stock management and issuance of crisis materials. • Analyze large datasets and discover trends and patterns that remain hidden to others;
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports together with the junior data analyst;
• Support colleagues in implementing data-driven decision-making that makes an impact;
• Optimize and structure data within organizations for maximum ease of use;
• Advise on and improve data processes and strategies that yield results.
• Respond to technological, innovative IT developments and shifts in work processes that affect datasets and context.
• Completed HBO (higher professional education) in IT (e.g., Informatics or Business Process Management), with HBO+ thinking level
• Specialized and broad knowledge of the IT domain
• Extensive experience as a Data Analyst or Business Intelligence Specialist
• Analytical and problem-solving skills that crack complex puzzles;
• Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI or Tableau)
• The ability to make complex data accessible to non-technical stakeholders thanks to excellent communication skills.
• You can express yourself well both in writing and orally in Dutch and English
• You work with defined subjects and relatively clear frameworks, established laws and regulations, established policy, and other guidelines
• Your results will be assessed on quality, usability, and realization of developed IT products, services, policy, and processes, and on their alignment with other domains and policy areas
• The business analyst is capable of making decisions based on the interpretation of not clearly defined influencing factors that mutually influence each other in content
• Work methods and content of technical products to be delivered are left to your own insight
