Project overview
This is a contract Data Architect role focused on defining the end-to-end Microsoft Fabric architecture and SAP-to-Fabric integration patterns. The core requirements are 12–17 years in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data-platform modernisation; strong Microsoft Fabric architecture; hands-on knowledge of OneLake, Lakehouse/Warehouse, Fabric Data Factory, pipelines, notebooks, and Power BI; and expertise in medallion and dimensional modelling.
The architect will also establish enterprise security, governance, CI/CD, and data-quality patterns, and lead customer-facing workshops with stakeholders and delivery teams. SAP Business Data Cloud, SAP Datasphere, SAP BW/BW4HANA, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP integration patterns are highly preferred rather than mandatory. The role is based in Copenhagen and is contract; the description does not specify a work mode or clearly name an industry, though enterprise and manufacturing platform experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end Microsoft Fabric target architecture, covering data ingestion, storage, transformation, modelling, semantic layer, security and governance.
- Define appropriate SAP-to-Fabric integration patterns, considering SAP BDC, SAP Datasphere, Premium Outbound, replication and other approved integration approaches.
- Design Fabric solutions using OneLake, Lakehouse/Warehouse, Data Factory, notebooks and Bronze-Silver-Gold architecture.
- Define migration patterns for SAP BW data, historical data, business logic, master data and hierarchies.
- Establish enterprise data modelling standards including dimensional models, conformed dimensions and SCD patterns.
- Define architecture for Power BI semantic models, including Direct Lake, Import/DirectQuery, RLS and OLS.
- Define standards for security, governance, lineage, data quality, monitoring and CI/CD.
- Lead architecture/design workshops with customer stakeholders and translate business and non-functional requirements into technical solutions.
- Review technical designs and provide architectural guidance to data engineering, BI and DevOps teams.
- Support architecture decisions around performance, scalability, recoverability and cost optimisation.
- 12–17 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering or enterprise data-platform modernisation.
- Strong hands-on architecture experience with Microsoft Fabric.
