Data Engineer - Talend/Denodo/Oracle RDS

Data Engineer with strong ETL development experience required to join a large-scale data engineering project on a long-term contract. The role is based in the West Midlands, with a hybrid working arrangement requiring 2 days per week in the office, offering competitive contract rate.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Talend ETL jobs, data virtualisation views and Oracle database artefacts.
• Support data extraction, integration and transformation activities using established development frameworks.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines and support automated testing and deployment processes.
• Investigate and resolve defects identified during development and testing.
• Conduct component testing, support QA and performance testing, and assist with production releases and post-release support.
• Review technical deliverables and provide guidance and support to junior engineers.
• Collaborate with technical teams to deliver reliable, high-quality data solutions.

Requirements

Open to candidates based in Shrewsbury, Telford, Wolverhampton, Stafford and Bridgnorth.

• Strong hands-on experience with Talend and ETL development.
• Experience with Denodo and data virtualisation.
• Practical experience with Oracle databases, SQL and DDL.
• Experience working with AWS.
• Familiarity with GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, testing and production support.
• Experience with Pentaho or Informatica would also be considered.
• Ability to work collaboratively within an Agile development environment.
• Must be able to attend the office 2 days per week within the West Midlands.
