Data Engineer

Project overview

This contract Data Engineer will build and operate reliable batch and streaming data pipelines across SAP, LIMS, and MES source systems for Roche PT's global, GxP-regulated environment. The role requires SQL and Python transformation skills, layered or medallion data design, pipeline orchestration, and operational practices such as CI/CD, version control, automated deployment, monitoring, lineage, and data-quality controls. Compliance is central: pipelines must support ALCOA+ principles, audit trails, and applicable 21 CFR Part 11 / EMA requirements.

The work feeds data products including DPM, Batch Release Cockpit, and APQR through the Roche PT Common Data Layer; no specific cloud, orchestration, or database platform is named as a preferred skill. The structured experience range is 3–10 years, the engagement is contract-based, and the stated locations are Poland and Spain; work mode is not specified.

Responsibilities

• Develop and orchestrate automated ingestion and transformation pipelines (batch and streaming) across source systems including SAP, LIMS and MES.
• Implement modular, testable transformation logic in SQL and Python, following the medallion/layered pattern into the Roche PT Common Data Layer.
• Operationalize pipelines through CI/CD, version control and automated deployment to ensure environment stability and reproducibility.
• Ensure all pipelines are compliant-by-design, honoring ALCOA+ principles and audit-trail requirements under 21 CFR Part 11 / EMA
