Datahub - Senior GCP Architect

Project overview

Join a major global industrial group as a Senior Data Architect specializing in Google Cloud Platform. You will drive the architectural vision and detailed design of a strategic enterprise data platform, progressively evolving towards a robust, performant, and highly secure ecosystem.

You will play a key role in the organization's data transformation. Your mission will be to evolve the initial infrastructure of the GCP Data Hub platform into a complete and scalable solution, capable of supporting critical long-term business needs. In close collaboration with the Product Owner, business architects, and the engineering team, you will define data governance standards and best practices, design high-performance ingestion and storage pipelines, and implement robust operational models.

You will be responsible for the platform's architectural consistency, cloud cost optimization, compliance with the group's strict security standards, and ensuring optimal data availability and performance. You will also contribute to the adoption of artificial intelligence and advanced analytics tools, ensuring the infrastructure supports emerging uses of generative AI and machine learning.

Responsibilities

Remote work: 2 days per week

• Define and validate the overall architectural vision of the GCP Data Hub platform, in line with the group's data strategy
• Design scalable, performant, and secure data pipelines, covering data ingestion, storage, and distribution
• Establish and maintain data governance, quality, and security standards within the platform
• Lead the implementation of an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategy to ensure reproducibility, traceability, and compliance
• Optimize cloud infrastructure costs while maintaining required performance levels
• Implement and validate CI/CD mechanisms to accelerate deployment and ensure quality
• Collaborate closely with business teams, PSL architects, and developers to realize business needs into technical solutions
• Ensure strict compliance with the group's security standards and governance policies
• Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies, particularly generative AI capabilities (Google Gemini) into the data ecosystem
• Document architectural decisions and foster knowledge sharing within technical teams

• Proven experience (5+ years) in data architecture and/or data engineering on large-scale cloud environments
• In-depth mastery of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, and associated services
• Expertise in data pipeline design, data modeling, and data warehouse architecture
• Solid knowledge of data governance, data quality, and security principles
• Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly Terraform or CloudFormation, applied to data infrastructures
• Advanced skills in CI/CD, automated deployment, and artifact management
• Experience in cloud cost optimization and infrastructure budget management
• Ability to design and document complex architectures, in English and French
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
• Rigor, sense of standards and compliance, particularly in highly regulated environments
• Experience with generative AI tools and Google Gemini services
• Knowledge of the GCP Data Hub platform or similar data federation and governance projects
• Experience in the aeronautics industry or comparable regulated sectors
• Mastery of Agile/Scrum approach and technical project management methodologies
• Expertise in data mesh, data fabric, or decentralized governance architectures
• Experience with versioning tools (Git), metadata registries, and data catalogs
• Knowledge of machine learning and ability to design infrastructures supporting ML/AI workloads
• Google Cloud Architect certifications or equivalent
