DevOps Engineer AWS & Snowflake

Project overview

Mission Context

As part of the development and industrialization of its Data Cloud platform, a large international group is looking for a DevOps Engineer AWS & Snowflake to strengthen its Data team.

You will work in a modern technological environment, at the heart of strategic challenges related to data valorization, infrastructure automation, and the reliability of analytical platforms.

Your role will be to guarantee the performance, availability, security, and scalability of the Data ecosystem, while supporting the Data Engineering, Data Science, and Product teams in the industrialization and deployment of their solutions.

Particular attention will be paid to the administration, automation, and optimization of Snowflake in an AWS environment.

Your main missions

• Snowflake Administration and Optimization – Key Expertise
• Participate in the administration, operation, and industrialization of the Snowflake platform.
• Automate the configuration and deployment of Snowflake resources via Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Contribute to the management of roles, permissions, access, and security best practices.
• Monitor Snowflake performance, consumption, and costs.
• Optimize compute resources (Virtual Warehouses) and support Data teams in using the platform.
• Participate in the reliability and automation of Snowflake object deployment processes.
• AWS Cloud Infrastructure & Infrastructure as Code
• Design, deploy, and maintain the AWS cloud infrastructures supporting the Data platform.
• Industrialize infrastructure management via Terraform.
• Standardize and automate development, testing, and production environments.
• Ensure the availability, security, and reproducibility of deployments.
• CI/CD & Automation
• Design, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI or equivalent tools.
• Automate the deployment of AWS, Snowflake, and Data application components.
• Implement best practices for versioning, branch management, and release management.
• Develop automation scripts in Python and/or Bash.
• Containerization, Orchestration & Observability
• Administer and evolve Docker and Kubernetes / EKS / ECS environments.
• Deploy and maintain monitoring and observability systems.
• Implement metrics, alerts, and dashboards with Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent solutions.
• Diagnose incidents and contribute to the continuous improvement of platform performance.
• Security, FinOps & Support for Data Teams
• Apply cloud security best practices: IAM, secrets management, permissions, and access control.
• Contribute to cost optimization for AWS and Snowflake within a FinOps approach.
• Support Data Engineers and Data Scientists in their production deployments.
• Ensure troubleshooting and participate in the continuous improvement of DevOps practices.
