DevOps Engineer – Linux & Cloud (2 FTE)

- Duration: 6 months, with option for extension Assignment Description For an IT service provider, we are looking for two DevOps Engineers who will be responsible for designing, managing, configuring, and optimizing various client environments. Within this assignment, you will work on a combination of infrastructure engineering, technical management, and automation. The client environments range from traditional application and database servers to modern container platforms and cloud solutions. Linux forms an important part of the technical infrastructure. You will be responsible for the stability, availability, and further development of these environments. You will work with technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, and Puppet, and contribute to the automation and improvement of existing management processes. Different clients are in various stages of their technological development. Some environments already make intensive use of CI/CD, microservices, and container technology, while other clients are being guided in the transition to DevOps, automated deployment processes, and public cloud solutions. The work requires technical depth, an analytical approach, and the ability to independently solve complex infrastructure issues. You will collaborate with other engineers and have direct contact with clients regarding technical solutions, innovation, and improvements. What will you do?
- Manage, configure, and optimize Linux-based enterprise environments.
- Design and maintain infrastructure for various client environments.
- Work with container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
- Automate configuration and management processes with Ansible and Puppet.
- Manage application servers, web servers, and databases.
- Support the development and implementation of CI/CD solutions.
- Contribute to the application of microservices architectures and cloud technology.
- Analyze and resolve complex technical incidents and infrastructure problems.
- Independently execute technical client projects and prepare documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers within an Agile/DevOps environment.
- Advise clients on technical improvements, automation, and innovation. Requirements
- HBO/WO work and thinking level (Dutch higher vocational/university level).
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a Linux Engineer or DevOps Engineer within enterprise environments.
- Demonstrable practical experience with Linux infrastructure and technical management.
- Demonstrable experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
- Demonstrable experience with Ansible and Puppet.
- Experience with independently executing technical projects.
- Experience working within Agile/DevOps teams.
- Good communication skills and the ability to discuss technical issues with clients and colleagues. Desired Skills
- Experience with developing, managing, or optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with public cloud environments, such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Knowledge of microservices architectures and container-based deployments.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automating infrastructure management.
- Knowledge of security within Linux, cloud, and container environments.
- Experience with databases, web servers, and application servers.
- Experience within an IT service provider or Managed Service Provider (MSP).
- Experience guiding clients in the transition to DevOps and cloud technology. Additional Information For this assignment, two positions are available. We are looking for professionals who can independently take responsibility for technical client environments while also functioning well within a team of engineers. The ideal candidate has a strong Linux background, demonstrable hands-on experience with container technology and configuration automation, and finds it interesting to work on diverse infrastructure issues. Selection Procedure: An initial interview will take place via Microsoft Teams with the responsible manager and an engineer from the team. Depending on the role and the need, a second interview may take place on location.
