Role Description:
The candidate will lead strategic planning & operating rhythm for the Enterprise Infrastructure leadership team. You'll shape and drive the infrastructure agenda across priorities such as resilience, modernisation, service quality, financial discipline, and risk management - turning strategy into clear transformation plans and measurable outcomes.
You'll act as the glue across teams: aligning stakeholders, accelerating decision-making, and ensuring the leadership team stays focused on the work that matters most for colleagues and customers who rely on stable, secure, and high-performing technology every day.
Key duties include the following:
Lead the annual and multi-year strategy cycle for Technology Infrastructure (vision, strategic priorities, roadmaps).
Translate Group Technology and business strategy into actionable infrastructure transformation initiatives.
Produce high-quality executive materials (strategy packs, decision papers) suitable for senior audiences.
Own the leadership team's operating cadence: weekly/monthly reviews, strategic deep-dives, and key governance forums.
Track delivery of top priorities across the portfolio; identify and manage dependencies, risks, bottlenecks, and decisions required to maintain delivery momentum and strategic alignment.
Partner with the Head of Transformation & Change & the Chief Operating Office (COO) to support investment planning, budget management, and spend transparency.
Provide insight on capacity and capability needs; support workforce planning and resourcing trade-offs.
Help drive productivity improvements and simplification across the function (process, tooling, organisational design).
Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across Group Chief Information Office (GCIO), Chief Technology Office (CTO), Chief Operating Office (COO), Procurement, and business CIO teams.
Facilitate cross-boundary collaboration - bringing diverse perspectives into decisions and creating alignment without slowing delivery.
Key skills/experience required:
Proven experience leading strategy, transformation, portfolio execution, or business management - ideally within Technology Infrastructure or a closely related technology function.
Experience in financial services or another highly regulated environment.
Reasonable understanding of core infrastructure domains (eg: compute, storage, cloud/hybrid operating models).
Track record of driving outcomes through influence in complex, matrixed organisations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills - able to craft concise executive narratives and steer senior-level decision-making.
Strong analytical skills (commercial judgement, data-driven prioritisation, benefits tracking, risk/issue management).
Personal Attributes:
Strategic thinker with a passion for technology & innovation.
Collaborative leader who values difference & succeeds together.
Results-driven, accountable & resilient under pressure.
Committed to continuous learning & professional development.
Commercially-minded & customer-focused.
