Electrical Design Engineer

Project overview

We are currently supporting a leading engineering consultancy delivering large-scale, mission-critical projects across Germany and are keen to speak with experienced German-speaking Lead Electrical Design Engineers.

This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of electrical design delivery on complex data centre developments, leading projects from concept design through construction support and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of MV/LV power systems for mission-critical facilities.
• Develop resilient electrical architectures, including N+1 and 2N redundancy solutions.
• Oversee electrical calculations, power studies, system coordination, and technical reviews.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and manage interfaces with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
• Support commissioning activities, testing programmes, and handover processes.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.

• Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience leading electrical design on data centre, mission-critical, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or other highly resilient facilities.
• Strong knowledge of MV/LV distribution, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, protection systems, and earthing.
• Experience with industry standards such as DIN/VDE, IEC, and EN 50600.
• Familiarity with ETAP, PowerFactory, Revit, Navisworks, or similar platforms.
• Fluent German language skills are essential, alongside strong professional English communication.
