Developing embedded software capable of running on battery for 5 to 10 years is not improvised.
This requires a good command of C, software architecture adapted to hardware constraints, and particular attention to energy consumption, testing, and code reliability.
We are looking for a Senior Embedded C Developer – STM32 / FreeRTOS to work with one of our clients.
The objective? Contribute to the development of embedded software while bringing your expertise on architectural choices, development practices, and software quality.
Your missions: from development to software architecture
You will be involved in different stages of software development, with a role that is not limited to writing code.
Specifically, you will be responsible for:
You will also contribute to discussions on architecture and design patterns, with one objective: proposing solutions adapted to the real constraints of the product.
Your technical environment:
- Participating in software design: analysis of specifications, definition and review of architecture, writing functional specifications.
- Developing in C on STM32 microcontrollers (or equivalents), taking into account embedded constraints and very low power consumption objectives.
- Analyzing failures, identifying their root causes, and contributing to their resolution.
- Ensuring software quality by applying unit, integration, and non-regression testing methods.
- Evolving development practices: static code analysis, improvement of embedded CI/CD pipelines and team processes.
- Mentoring junior developers by sharing your knowledge, helping them progress, and guiding them on best practices.
- Language: Embedded C
- Microcontrollers: STM32 or equivalents
- RTOS: FreeRTOS
- Energy constraints: Ultra Low Power, with battery life objectives of 5 to 10 years
- Communication: Low-level and proprietary radio protocols
