Environmental Law Advisor (interim)

Project overview

As an Environmental Law Advisor, you will support the Environment Expertise Center of Gasunie with projects and management activities in North and East Netherlands.

Profile of the suited interim professional:

• Guiding legal staff in the application of environmental law
• Reviewing and monitoring the quality of legal advice and products
• Translating legal frameworks into practical solutions within projects
• Advising managers on risks, choices, and the design of processes
• Coordinating activities and monitoring the coherence between projects and files
• Reviewing comments and contributing to objection and appeal procedures
• Reviewing environmental checks and environmental management plans
• Developing and maintaining a network with competent authorities and chain partners
• Sharing knowledge through training and presentations
• Completed legal education at HBO or WO level, for example, constitutional and administrative law
• At least 5 years of experience in environmental law within a project environment (infrastructure, energy, industry, or area development)
• Experience with project-based work and strong planning and organizational skills
• Strong advisory and communication skills
• A relevant network in North and East Netherlands, or the ability to build one quickly
• Willingness to travel within the Netherlands and possibly stay overnight
