The ODZL is looking for an environmental supervisor

The position

The Environmental Services South Limburg is looking for temporary support (2290 hours) within the Environmental Monitoring & Safety department until 2026.

For the execution of regular environmental monitoring tasks, we are looking for an experienced supervisor who can independently carry out environmental inspections, perform re-inspections, and prepare reports in accordance with the ODZL format.

The candidate will be deployed for supervision at companies falling under municipal authority.

Our clients are the municipalities of Beek, Beekdaelen, Brunssum, Eijsden-Margraten, Gulpen-Wittem, Heerlen, Kerkrade, Landgraaf, Maastricht, Meerssen, Simpelveld, Sittard-Geleen, Stein, Vaals, Valkenburg aan de Geul, Voerendaal, and the Province of Limburg.

What you bring

Job requirements

• Execution of integrated environmental inspections at companies in, among others:
• metalworking / metal companies
• plastics processing
• hospitality industry
• companies with storage or use of hazardous substances
• Execution of any re-inspections
• Preparation of reports according to ODZL format
• Consultation with entrepreneurs and explanation of measures and findings
• Registration and processing of data via digital systems
• HBO (higher professional education) level of education (environmental science, chemistry, technical, or comparable)
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant supervisory experience in the municipal domain
• Demonstrable knowledge of environmental regulations, including:
• hazardous substances
• waste streams
• industry
• hospitality establishments
• Ability to conduct inspections independently
