Project overview

We are looking for an AS400 / IBM i Expert – Level 3/4 RUN Support to join one of our clients in the Retail sector, as part of maintaining operational conditions and resolving complex incidents on business applications related to logistics and warehouse management.

You will be involved in a complex technical and functional environment, characterized by specificities unique to each warehouse and each country, requiring excellent mastery of AS400 environments as well as a strong capacity for analysis and problem-solving.

The mission is part of a service continuity context, with a handover period of at least one month with the consultant currently in place.

We are looking for a highly experienced AS400 / IBM i Expert, with solid experience in production support and Level 3/4 complex incident resolution.

You have worked in demanding technical environments, ideally in the Retail, distribution, or logistics sector, and are accustomed to intervening on critical business applications.

You have excellent analytical skills, allowing you to quickly identify the origin of malfunctions and propose reliable and sustainable solutions.

You are capable of understanding complex environments, integrating multiple warehouses and countries, with different functional and technical specificities.

Autonomous, rigorous, and responsive, you know how to manage critical incidents, work with technical and business stakeholders, and ensure service continuity.

Your professional English level allows you to evolve effectively in an international context.

Significant experience in AS400 environments applied to logistics processes will be particularly appreciated.

• Provide Level 3 and 4 application and technical support on AS400 / IBM i environments.
• Analyze, diagnose, and resolve complex incidents impacting logistics applications.
• Ensure the maintenance of operational conditions (MCO) of business applications.
• Identify root causes of incidents and implement sustainable corrective solutions.
• Intervene on specific issues related to logistics processes and warehouse management.
• Take into account the functional and technical particularities specific to different countries and warehouses.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of application stability, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate with technical, functional, and business teams to resolve encountered issues.
• Monitor critical incidents and contribute to reducing their recurrence.
• Participate in technical documentation and knowledge capitalization.
• Ensure a handover period with the outgoing consultant to guarantee business continuity.
• Provide technical expertise on complex issues requiring high-level intervention.
• Confirmed expertise in AS400 / IBM i environments (formerly AS/400).
• Solid experience in Level 3 and/or 4 application and technical support.
• Excellent mastery of diagnosis and resolution of complex incidents in a production environment.
• Good knowledge of application architectures and IBM i systems.
• Significant experience in maintenance of operational conditions (MCO).
• Ability to analyze complex technical issues and identify their root causes.
• Experience in critical application environments requiring high availability.
• Good understanding of business processes related to logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management.
• Ability to intervene in an international and multi-country environment.
• Professional English mandatory, allowing effective communication with international teams.
• Knowledge of RPG, CL, and DB2 for i technologies is an asset, depending on the client's technical environment.
• Experience in the Retail / Distribution sector is a real advantage.
