Assignment description
Department information
You will work with your colleagues within Engineering & Realization. Together with your fellow Expert Engineers of Secondary, you will work in an environment where technical expertise, collaboration, and innovation come together. With fellow Experts, Project Managers, Project Engineers, Detail Engineers, and specialists, you will work on the expansion and modification of high-voltage installations. We share knowledge, actively seek collaboration, and together ensure that projects can be realized safely and in a controlled manner.
From Weert, you will work on projects that combine the latest construction and design techniques with high demands on safety and quality. For cybersecurity, you will engineer according to the client's assignment and applicable standards. You will be given the space to apply and transfer your expertise, so that not only projects but also fellow engineers can grow.
Job description
As an Expert Engineer Secondary in Weert, you will oversee the engineering of complex high-voltage projects. You connect disciplines, monitor progress and quality, and identify risks before they delay a project. With your technical expertise, you help projects and fellow engineers move forward.
This is how you will take on this challenge
In this role, you are at the heart of the engineering of our high-voltage projects. You know what's happening within the standards of secondary technology and fully embrace them.
You know better than anyone how to transfer knowledge and guide and train Project Engineers in projects. You bring technology and people together. You look ahead, make bottlenecks discussable, and ensure that planning, reviews, and technical choices align. At the same time, you share your expertise with engineers and help them grow in knowledge and craftsmanship.
- You combine technical depth with an overview and ensure that complex high-voltage projects proceed in a controlled manner and according to agreement through engineering.
- You connect construction, primary, and secondary technology, thus having insight into the entire engineering process.
- You can count on a good salary, 28.7% flexible employment conditions, and ample room for your development.
Responsibilities
Job requirements and wishes
You keep a cool head when multiple projects, disciplines, and interests converge. You quickly see where risks arise, ask the right questions, and do not wait when action is needed. You communicate clearly, work easily with different disciplines, and know how to involve others in choices and improvements.
- You have knowledge of protections and automations within the high-voltage world. You are didactically well-trained and know how to transfer your knowledge to other colleagues.
- You maintain and describe our standards; this is the foundation of the engineering work.
- You participate in working groups for technical developments, tenders, framework agreements, complex failures, and custom solutions. From your expertise, you contribute to decision-making, standardization, and the further development of the department.
- You oversee engineering within projects and ensure good coordination between construction, primary, and secondary technology. You guide project engineers in preparing the engineering plan, monitor progress, and anticipate risks and potential disruptions.
- You review project plans and ensure that important review moments take place timely and carefully. You provide substantive guidance to engineers, share knowledge, and help further strengthen quality, safety, and craftsmanship within the department.
- The high-voltage substation can never be switched off, and the risk of damage is high. Therefore, you review all drawings together with the Project Engineer before they are released externally. The risk of damage is indeed very high.
