Financial Controller / Finance Manager - Freelance - Portugal

Project overview

Context

An international tech group is strengthening its finance team in Portugal, which handles finance and tools for several group subsidiaries. The current person is leaving: the team, very busy with day-to-day operations, is looking for an experienced finance manager to take charge of financial steering and resume ongoing tool projects, including the deployment of the finance ERP in the subsidiaries.

Main missions

• Start date: as soon as possible (November 2026)
• Duration: until the end of March 2027, probable renewal
• Location: Portugal, Lisbon or Porto, full-time on-site presence
• Profile based in Portugal (no coverage of travel or accommodation expenses)
• Working languages: French, English, and Portuguese
• Take charge of controlling for the scope: budget, forecast, monthly closing, reporting, and variance analysis
• Be the business partner for local financial management and operational staff, and relieve them of steering tasks so they can focus on day-to-day operations
• Take over and manage ongoing finance tool projects, particularly the deployment of the finance ERP in subsidiaries: planning, milestones, stakeholder coordination
• Ensure project monitoring: committees, risks, progress reporting
• Act as the link between finance and IT: express business needs, challenge solutions, secure decisions
• Ensure the reliability of reporting processes and tools throughout the mission
