The position

As a Financial Controller within the municipality, you are responsible for a reliable, complete, and lawful financial administration. You play a crucial role in ensuring financial control and support management and directors with accurate figures and insights.

You are an important link within the planning and control cycle and ensure timely and correct financial reporting. You focus on the quality of the figures, compliance with laws and regulations, and optimizing financial processes. You will work closely with colleagues within finance and other departments.

In your role, you monitor the financial position of the organization, identify deviations and risks, and ensure they are addressed promptly. You contribute to a transparent and well-organized financial function within the municipal organization.

Responsibilities

· Ensuring a reliable, complete, and lawful financial administration;

· Preparing and consolidating financial reports, including monthly and quarterly figures;

· Coordinating and supporting the annual accounts process; Preparing and guiding accountant audits;

· Monitoring compliance with laws and regulations (including BBV);

· Identifying deviations, risks, and improvement opportunities;

· Contributing to the optimization and standardization of financial processes; Supporting the planning and control cycle (P&C);

· Acting as a point of contact for financial issues within the organization.

What you bring

As a Financial Controller within the municipality, you are responsible for the quality, reliability, and lawfulness of financial information provision. You make an important contribution to a solid financial foundation and support management and directors with timely and accurate figures.

You are closely involved in the planning and control cycle and ensure consistent and reliable reports and analyses. Your focus is on ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the figures and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. You identify deviations and risks and ensure they are addressed promptly and adequately.

In your role, you collaborate with colleagues within the financial function and other departments. You have an eye for processes and internal control and actively contribute to the improvement and professionalization of the financial organization.

You take ownership of your work, work accurately and structured, and know how to communicate financial information clearly. Additionally, you are focused on continuous improvement, both in processes and in your own development.

· A completed HBO or WO degree in a financial field (e.g., Finance & Control, Business Economics, or Accountancy);

· Relevant work experience as a Financial Controller or in a comparable role;

· Experience with financial administration, reporting, and statements;

· Knowledge of or experience with the planning and control cycle (P&C);

· Knowledge of laws and regulations within the public sector (such as BBV) is a plus;

· An accurate and structured working method;

· Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail;

· The ability to make financial information clear and understandable for different target groups.

Due to current laws and regulations regarding equal pay, we ensure that your employment conditions align with the conditions within the public sector. This includes compensating elements such as the Individual Choice Budget (IKB) and pension schemes like ABP.

To comply with this, we work with various variable components. Depending on your situation and preferences, you can think of a combination of, for example, a lease car, gross project allowance, net reimbursements (such as internet), and facilities like a laptop and phone allowance.

What you can count on from us is a compliant and transparent offer that fully meets current legislation and aligns with your personal wishes.

Basically, you can count on:

· A market-conform salary within scale 11-12 of the municipal collective labor agreement;

· A net home working allowance of €2.45 per day;

· Travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometer, or the choice of a lease car or full public transport allowance;

· 25 vacation days per year (based on 40 hours per week);

· 8.33% holiday allowance;

· Participation in the StiPP Plus pension scheme from your first working day.
