• Self-employed and based in the EU (registered business or freelancer), working for other clients or planning to do so
• Degree or vocational qualification in electrical engineering, automation or a related field
• Solid hands-on experience in PLC programming with Siemens S7 / TIA Portal
• Track record of successful commissioning projects, ideally including international assignments
• Experience designing and implementing automation concepts to customer requirements
• Structured, solution-oriented approach, even under time pressure on site
• Business-fluent English
• Willing to travel for extended periods, mainly to Germany and the USA; valid passport
• Professional or general liability insurance, or willingness to obtain coverage
• Challenging automation projects with an international focus
• Fair, transparent rates and clear travel expense policies
• Prompt payment and reliable collaboration under a framework agreement
• A single point of contact for contract and project coordination
• Support with travel formalities for international assignments (e.g. invitation letters)
• Excellent prospects for follow-up projects

Project details

€65–85 per hour, depending on experience; travel expenses and travel time reimbursed as agreed

Remote and on-site at end customers in Germany and the USA

Project scope

• Programming: Develop control software for automated systems using Siemens S7 / TIA Portal.
• Commissioning: Independently prepare and carry out on-site commissioning at the end customer’s facility, mainly in the USA.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve faults in control systems.
• Coordination: Work closely with the customer’s project team and other trades to deliver on time and to a high standard.
