Jobbeschreibung

Seeking a freelance Senior UX Product Designer to translate user research and UX/UI design into implementable requirements for a development team, working on a new software product for the Ministry of Justice and Security.

Project details

85,- Assignment Description The candidate is able to translate insights from user research, processes, and UX/UI design into concrete and implementable requirements for the development team. The candidate develops functionalities in user stories, scenarios, and acceptance criteria and has experience with Behaviour Driven Development (BDD). The candidate works closely with frontend and backend developers to refine requirements and ensure a shared understanding of the desired functionalities. Finally, you must be able to flexibly adapt to choices that will be made along the way based on acquired experience.

Because we are building new software, we assume a lot of collaboration, so we fundamentally require physical presence on location (Utrecht). You will work closely with cross-functional teams such as the Team Lead, Frontend and Backend developers, and the product team to elevate the product. Additionally, you will broadly contribute to the team's design of the Data Accounting system, aligning with the JenV Agreements on Data and Algorithms.

Engagement: 24-36 hours per week Location Because we are building new software, we assume a lot of collaboration, so we fundamentally require 3 days of physical presence on location (Utrecht), with the candidate expected to use their own resources such as a laptop, phone, transportation, etc. Assignment Background Currently, the Data Accounting system is being developed into a production-ready version (MVP). Software development takes place via design thinking aspects and principles.

As a UX Researcher and Designer, you play a crucial role in leading and executing end-to-end UX research projects, including defining research goals, selecting methods, collecting and analyzing data, and presenting it to stakeholders. Since Data Accounting is a new concept within data management, it is important to have solid knowledge and experience with data management in the broadest sense. In all cases, it may not be possible to gather input through end-to-end UX research projects; in such cases, the right path must be devised through your own insights and presented to the various stakeholders.

Together with the team, you will help integrate these results into the design and development process. We are looking for an experienced UX Researcher and Designer who will help us identify opportunities for UX research based on objectives and user needs. You will develop personas, customer journey maps, and other tools to increase understanding of user needs and share them with stakeholders and within the team. You are aware of the latest developments in UX research and contribute to the continuous improvement of research processes and methodologies.

Additionally, you have experience with UX design and the ability to translate design concepts into concrete prototypes and test them with users. Description of Service/Department The CDO of JenV primarily focuses on shaping data policy for sharing, typing, quality, use, and algorithms. This stems from the need to share data responsibly, efficiently, and transparently across the various parts of the ministry. For this, it is essential that there is a common language when discussing data. The CDO therefore has the ambition to make data sharing an organizational skill.

JenV-wide standards for defining policy and metadata are recorded in the JenV Agreements Data & Algorithms (JAGA). Data Accounting is an application that supports the execution of this policy and the systematic recording of metadata. Requirements The candidate possesses a WO (University) work and thinking level. The candidate has at least 5 years of demonstrable and proven experience in a combined UX/Product Design role within complex digital products. The candidate has at least 5 years of demonstrable and proven experience in UX research, interaction design, prototyping, and requirements refinement.

The candidate has at least 5 years of demonstrable and proven experience with Figma, including component-based design, setting up and managing reusable components, and working with design systems and component libraries. The candidate has at least 3 years of demonstrable and proven experience in translating user needs and UX/UI designs into concrete user stories, scenarios, and acceptance criteria. The candidate has at least 3 years of demonstrable and proven experience with interaction design and information architecture for complex, data-intensive applications.

The candidate has demonstrable experience in leading complex research projects and delivering valuable insights that have contributed to product improvement within the government. Desired Skills The candidate has knowledge of tools for conducting and analyzing research, such as survey platforms, usability software, and design prototyping tools. The candidate has experience with user story mapping, backlog refinement in a multidisciplinary team, and breaking down complex user needs into incrementally achievable functionality.

The candidate has experience with Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) and describing desired system behavior in concrete scenarios, for example, according to Given/When/Then. The candidate has experience with digital accessibility and application of WCAG guidelines. Competencies: analysis, customer focus, environmental awareness, planning and organizing, results-oriented, collaboration, progress monitoring, self-development. Additional Information An offered CV must contain the full name, address, date of birth, phone number, and email address of the candidate. Work situation: Subcontracting is not allowed.

Exclusivity is required upon acceptance of an invitation for an intake until 4 days after the intake date.
