We are looking for an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to contribute to a large-scale energy infrastructure project focused on CO2 and hydrogen transport. The role involves developing and reviewing instrumentation concepts, specifications, and deliverables, and participating in various technical studies.
Project overview
As an Instrumentation Engineer, you will contribute to a large-scale energy infrastructure project involving CO2 and hydrogen transport.
Profile of the suited interim professional:
- Setting up and further developing instrumentation concepts
- Reviewing the instrumentation components of P&IDs
- Compiling and verifying instrumentation, equipment, I/O, and cable lists
- Managing and reviewing the Metering Philosophy
- Standardizing measurement solutions for pressure, temperature, flow, and quality
- Determining instrumentation requirements for control valves, actuators, and safety systems
- Developing instrumentation for vent, drain, pigging, and blow-off systems
- Preparing and reviewing specifications and datasheets
- Reviewing and approving technical deliverables from engineering partners
- Providing instrumentation technical input for Control & Safeguarding and ESD philosophies
- Participating in HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, and QRA studies
- Identifying technical risks and advising on solutions
- Guiding the transition from concept phase to FEED and realization
- Executing and guiding FAT and SAT processes
- Acting as Discipline Lead Instrumentation towards engineering contractors
- Coordinating with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders
- Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Measurement and Control Engineering, or equivalent
- At least 10 years of work experience as an Instrumentation Engineer
- Work experience gained within CCS, the process industry, energy infrastructure, oil & gas, or a comparable sector
- Practical experience with FEED and/or basic engineering
- Skill in preparing and reviewing P&IDs
- Knowledge of methods for pressure, temperature, flow, and analysis measurement
- Experience with valves, actuators, control valves, and safety systems
- Knowledge of relevant IEC and ISA standards
- Good command of the Dutch and English languages
- Advantage: experience with transport pipelines, compressor or pump stations, functional safety/SIL, and CO2, hydrogen, LNG, or natural gas systems
