Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Microservices Engineer to join a critical project for a leading banking client.
The successful candidate will have strong hands-on development experience, excellent problem-solving skills and a proven background building and supporting Java-based microservices within enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities
This is a hands-on coding role, so candidates must have strong recent Java development experience.
- 8-12 years' commercial Java development experience
- Banking or financial domain experience
- 5+ years
- Strong hands-on Java 17+
- Spring/Spring Boot
- Strong Microservices development experience
- GitLab
- Kubernetes
- Oracle
- ActiveMQ
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience working within banking/financial services environments highly desirable
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment with 2 days onsite in Manchester
- Develop and maintain high-quality Java Back End applications
- Design and build scalable microservices
- Work closely with technical and business teams to deliver critical banking solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
- Contribute to architecture, design and technical decision-making
- Develop and maintain automated deployment processes
- Work with Kubernetes and enterprise infrastructure
- Ensure code quality, performance, security and maintainability

- Rate: 54-54 EUR/h
