Then this is your chance. For Water Board Drents Overijsselse Delta, we are looking for an enthusiastic trainee who wants to contribute to one of the biggest social challenges in our country: protecting the Netherlands against high water. As a Junior Advisor Technical Management, you will work on leading dike reinforcement projects within the High Water Protection Program (HWBP).

You are not on the sidelines, but part of the project team and work with experienced specialists on the dikes of the future. From technical research and design issues to project management and innovation: you will have the opportunity to gain broad and valuable experience in the world of water safety in a short time. A unique trainee assignment where technology, social relevance, and personal development come together.

Junior Advisor Technical Management Zwolle | 32 hours per week | 1 year | Trainee assignment via secondment agency About the assignment You will work within the Mastenbroek-IJssel dike reinforcement project, an important part of the national High Water Protection Program. Together with water boards, Rijkswaterstaat, and market parties, work is being done on the largest dike reinforcement operation since the Delta Works. The project aims to reinforce the IJssel dike between Zwolle and IJsselmuiden and protect the area against floods for the future. The project is at the beginning of the plan development phase.

It is precisely in this phase that the most important choices are made. What will the future dike look like? Which technical solutions are best suited? How do we ensure that the design is safe, feasible, and future-proof? You will make a concrete contribution to this. In addition, you will also work on the Veilige Vecht Dalfsen project and the innovative HWBP project 'Strength of unsaturated zone'. This gives you a unique insight into both traditional and innovative solutions in the field of water safety.

The exact time allocation will be determined in consultation based on the trainee's interests and the required activities. You will conduct technical research, collect and analyze data on the strength of flood defenses, and support design activities. You will also contribute to the preparation of execution, such as execution techniques, emission-free construction, and relocation of cables & pipes.

You will gain insight into the entire process: from field research and technical analyses to design, decision-making, and reporting. You will be fully involved in the project team and, depending on your background and interests, will have a varied package of tasks. You will also be part of the Technology & Technical Management expertise group, where you will work with colleagues on knowledge development, innovation, and themes such as safety, sustainability, and smarter working. This way, you not only help build the dikes of the future but also your own professional development. Who are we looking for?
