Machining Raw Material Buyer

Project overview

We are looking for one of our clients, a major player in the French defense industry, a machining raw material buyer, who has already carried out this type of exercise with a manufacturer in the aeronautics or defense sector for establishing material needs to be integrated into Conbid.

Activities to be carried out:

• Establish a map of raw material usage by customer program
• Formulate in a summary document all critical material uses from the MBDA supplier panel, and indicate the programs/finished products concerned.
• Write a questionnaire and a letter addressed to suppliers to identify critical materials used in the products.
• Create a database for tracking mailings
• Establish material needs to be integrated into Conbid based on material grades and programs concerned
• For each need, contact the machinist to obtain the format, dimensions, and delivery conditions necessary for the manufacture of machined parts
• Collect various supplier feedback through a database that translates for each machined part reference a "formatted" material definition
• Classify and quantify each of the expected materials
• Follow up with subcontractors if they do not respond before the granted window closes.
• Formulate proposals for consolidation between different supplier requests
• Formulate de-risking proposals for the Client
