We are seeking a Manufacturing/Service Technician to build and test medical devices and subassemblies and perform in-house service on consoles returned from the field. This hands-on role diagnoses failures, performs PCBA rework and updates, and completes repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment. The technician documents findings and works with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Operations to resolve issues and improve product reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical and electrical assembly, wiring, soldering, inspection, and rework using appropriate hand tools, precision tools, and test equipment.
  • Perform functional and electrical testing of subassemblies and finished devices; record results and verify conformance to approved acceptance criteria.
  • Troubleshoot printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) to the component level using schematics, diagnostic methods, and electrical test equipment; identify failed components and document findings.
  • Perform PCBA soldering, desoldering, component replacement, rework, and approved updates to implement released engineering changes; inspect workmanship and test boards after rework or modification.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and system-level failures in production units and consoles returned from the field; document findings, root causes when confirmed, and corrective actions.
  • Process return material authorizations (RMAs), including receipt, identification, evaluation, repair, refurbishment, and service documentation, following approved procedures.
  • Complete in-house repairs and maintenance by replacing or reworking approved components and restoring devices to specified operating conditions
  • Maintain accurate build, test, and service records, including serial numbers, parts used, failure symptoms, work performed, and final test results
  • Identify recurring failure trends and provide actionable feedback to Engineering and Operations; support failure investigations and process improvements.
  • Follow approved quality, safety, ESD, and contamination-control procedures. Identify and segregate nonconforming materials and escalate unresolved issues.
  • Keep work areas, tools, equipment, and materials clean, organized, and properly identified; perform assigned equipment maintenance.
  • Work closely with Engineering to design, build, and evaluate assembly and test fixtures.
  • Collaborate across teams to meet production and service priorities and support technician training as needed.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by manager
