Microsoft Exchange / M365 Messaging Engineer

Project overview

Within the Digital Workplace foundation, you will join the Collaboration / Exchange Messaging team, responsible for the engineering, level 3 support, and operational maintenance (MCO) of Microsoft Exchange On-Premises, Exchange Online (Microsoft 365) messaging infrastructures, as well as Cisco IronPort messaging relays.

You will participate in the evolution projects of messaging infrastructures, their design, deployment, and operation, while supporting migration and hybridization projects towards Microsoft 365. You will work in collaboration with the Systems, Networks, Security, and Mobility teams in a critical environment with high availability and security requirements.

The engineer's mission is to design and implement enterprise messaging infrastructures. They also ensure their operational maintenance. They work in close collaboration with systems, networks, security, and mobility engineers.

The messaging engineer is responsible for the following activities:

• Study, design, costing, deployment, and operational monitoring of messaging and email archiving architectures
• Definition, implementation, and management of changes beyond routine administration tasks
• Advice and assistance in technical and application projects on messaging systems and infrastructures
• Technical project management
• Creation of technical documentation
• Support for M365 projects and hybridization of messaging infrastructure
• The expected technical skills are:
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft products and technologies: Windows Server, Active Directory, PKI,
• Advanced skills in using and scripting PowerShell
• Mastery of Exchange-related technologies and protocols: SMTP, MAPI/HTTP, POP3, MAPI, ActiveSync.
• M365 and particularly Exchange Online
• Expertise in Cisco Ironport Messaging Relays (a plus)
• Experience or in-depth mastery of VERITAS Enterprise Vault technologies would also be a plus
