Network Technician

Project overview

For our client, we are looking for a Network Technician.

IT Department

Mölndal City has a centralized organization for IT and digitalization and belongs to the City Management Administration. The department is designated the IT Department. The department is divided into two units, IT Operations and Support, and Development and Management, as well as a staff for strategy, analysis, and follow-up.

The IT Operations and Support unit has the mission to be responsible for daily operations and focus on customer benefit, as well as to meet the city's need for a well-functioning and stable network and server environment. The unit is also responsible for assisting the city's users with good support and providing them with the equipment required for them to perform their work.

Purpose

Our client needs a network technician to support during a regular employee's 8-month parental leave.

Role Description

The Network Technician role is operational for daily operations and support. This means the resource will always be based at the office and therefore has no possibility for remote work.

The purpose of the position is to provide the city's operations with good support in network technology by being proactive and responsive in collaboration with other roles within the Digitalization and IT Department.

Option for Extension

Possible 1-year extension.

Personal Qualities

Fluent Swedish in speech and writing, as our client is a politically governed municipality, the corporate language is Swedish.

As a person, you have high drive and good initiative. You are organized and engaged, and with good pedagogical ability, you easily create long-term relationships. You have good communication skills and create conditions for a clear and effective working method for yourself and your surroundings. You are good at working independently and can prioritize cases yourself.

• Good knowledge of routing, switching.
• Experience with DHCP, DNS, and IPAM.

• Ability to document and work structurally.
• Experience working in a case management system.
• Valid driver's license B.
• Knowledge of fiber optic networks, including different types of SFP modules, fiber connectors, ODF (Optical Distribution Frame).
• Experience designing and planning wireless networks using Ekahau software.
• Experience with network automation, for example, Python.
• Experience with EVPN-VXLAN and modern network architectures.
