About the assignment

The Delta Rhine Corridor is developing a new transport network for hydrogen and CO2 between Rotterdam and the German border. The project includes new hydrogen and dense phase CO2 pipelines, block valve stations, pigging facilities, and connections to existing and future energy infrastructure.

For the Core Engineering Team, we are looking for an experienced Pipeline Engineer who will play an important role in the design and assessment of the future pipeline system.

Gross annual salary: €77,346 - €105,126 per year + excluding holiday pay and 13th month

We are open to various contract types for this assignment:

Employment – Grading in accordance with the applicable Collective Labour Agreement.

ZZP – Based on a contract of assignment.

Important conditions for ZZP engagement:

The assignment is carried out as an independent entrepreneur, without employer authority or integration into the organization;

There is a clear assignment description with concrete deliverables;

The engagement must comply with the applicable DBA guidelines.

For hires via a supplier, the agreed rates and conditions apply in accordance with the mediation agreement. Salaried employees will be graded according to the applicable Collective Labour Agreement.

What will you do?

You will contribute to the further development of the design from Concept Select and Basic Design to FEED, detail engineering, execution, and commissioning.

The activities include:

preparing and assessing pipeline designs for hydrogen and CO2 transport;

coordinating pipeline designs with process, pigging, venting, and operational philosophies;

developing and reviewing block valve schematics, tie-in schematics, and pigging facilities;

working out pipeline configurations including crossings, tie-ins, and routing;

establishing design premises for pipeline diameters, pressure classes, and material choices;

assessing hydraulic, thermal, and mechanical design issues;

supporting studies in the field of:

strength calculations;

flexibility analyses;

water hammer;

pulsation;

erosion;

integrity;

coordinating with civil, geotechnical, and environmental disciplines;

supporting HAZID, HAZOP, SWIFT, and QRA processes;

reviewing contractor deliverables;

supporting during FEED, detail engineering, and execution.

Result / Deliverables

The Pipeline Engineer will deliver, among other things:

pipeline designs;

block valve schematics;

pipeline configurations;

technical design assessments;

design premises for pipeline design;

technical input for safety studies;

contributions to standardization of design philosophies for CO2 transport.

What do we ask?

HBO or WO Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;

minimum of 10 years of experience with high-pressure pipeline systems;

experience within oil & gas, CCS, hydrogen, or process industry;

knowledge of:

NEN 3650 series;

ISO 27913;

ASME B31;

strength and stress calculations;

experience in multidisciplinary projects;

experience as a contractor and/or owner engineer is a plus.
