Planner Component Maintenance (HVK) for Rail Vehicles

Project overview

For our client Transitio, we are now looking for a Planner for Component Maintenance (HVK) for rail vehicles.

AB Transitio is owned by twenty regions and is responsible for the procurement, financing, and management of rail vehicles for regional train traffic in Sweden. Through collaboration, we create long-term sustainable and cost-effective vehicle solutions for our owners.

A fundamental part of Transitio's operations is responsibility for heavy maintenance of components (TUK). Transitio, together with three other vehicle owners (Västtrafik, Jönköpings Länstrafik, and Östgötatrafiken), has procured and signed agreements for heavy maintenance of high-value components (HVK) for five vehicle types: Coradia (X61 & X62), Regina (X50-54), Itino (Y31 & Y32), X11/14, and Dosto (ER1). Agreements have been signed with 13 different suppliers (TUK suppliers) for a total of 40 different maintenance packages. The vehicle owners share common components in an HVK pool.

The HVK pool is utilized by 9 different traffic-related vehicle maintainers to replace components on vehicles and perform maintenance on disassembled components that require it. Transitio is responsible for administering and managing this HVK pool of components. The generic process for component maintenance works as follows when a need arises to replace a component on a vehicle:

Transport of a refurbished component from the HVK warehouse to the traffic-related vehicle maintainer

Disassembly of a component requiring maintenance from a vehicle at the traffic-related vehicle maintainer

Assembly of a refurbished component onto a vehicle at the traffic-related vehicle maintainer

Transport of a disassembled component requiring maintenance from the traffic-related vehicle maintainer to the TUK supplier

Performance of maintenance on the disassembled component requiring maintenance at the TUK supplier

Transport of a newly refurbished component from the TUK supplier to the HVK warehouse

To ensure Transitio's and other vehicle owners' needs for performing component maintenance and making the HVK pool function effectively, Transitio is now seeking a planner who will be responsible for:

Developing established working methods and processes for the planning work

Creating and following up on plans together with other vehicle owners, the traffic-related maintainers, and the TUK suppliers

Communicating with the traffic-related maintainers regarding the need for adjustments in plans from both parties, which may be caused by, for example, the need for corrective maintenance.

Communicating with TUK suppliers to ensure they receive information about the plans so they can plan their operations based on material and personnel needs and ensure capacity requirements.

Communicating with other vehicle owners to coordinate the steering and achieve consensus on the pool's planning.

Supporting the HVK Pool Manager and HVK Pool Coordinators at Transitio by, among other things:

o Providing them with plans for component maintenance

o Following up and analyzing lead times at the HVK warehouse, the traffic-related vehicle maintainers, and the TUK suppliers

o Analyzing the need for the number of components in the HVK pool

Personal Qualities

Start Date: As soon as possible, but no later than January 11, 2027.

End Date: 2027-09-30

• Minimum 3 years of experience in planning maintenance for rail vehicles and/or components such as bogies, wheelsets, couplings, pantographs, traction motors, diesel engines, gearboxes, HVAC, main switches, magnetic brakes, or compressors
• Very good knowledge of Excel
• Good command of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
• Several years of experience in planning maintenance for rail vehicles and/or components such as bogies, wheelsets, couplings, pantographs, traction motors, diesel engines, gearboxes, HVAC, main switches, magnetic brakes, or compressors
• Experience in work that included vehicle documentation and maintenance documentation
• Technical knowledge of Transitio's rail vehicles and their management
• Experience working with vehicle types Coradia, Regina, Itino, Dosto, and/or X11-X14
• Experience working in a depot environment or other production environment
• Experience with planning tools
• Experience from working in the registry system FORD
• Experience working with maintenance systems or vehicle data systems/vehicle management systems
• Earlier start than January 11
• Proactive, social, and forward-thinking to continuously contact all involved stakeholders
• Technically interested
• Accustomed to working independently and continuously planning and prioritizing one's work

Compensation Form: Running account

Option: 3+3+3 months

Contractual Terms:

Terms for the assignment will be based on Ework's framework agreement with the client, which applies ABK 09 with certain deviations. Please review the terms in the attachment "Example Agreement Transitio".
