Context of the mission

As part of a strategic SAP S/4HANA implementation program within a major player in the defense sector, our client wishes to strengthen its steering capabilities with a PMO Lead.

Reporting to the program director, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating a team of PMOs working on the various streams of the program. You will be responsible for the consistency of steering, the consolidation of information, and the escalation of alerts to management.

The PMO Lead must above all bring a high-level view and clarity to program management. This is not just about consolidating reporting, but about having a global vision, anticipating deviations, highlighting alerts, and facilitating trade-offs.

The challenge: ensure effective transverse steering and provide program management with a clear, reliable, and synthetic view of the situation at all times.

• Coordination and animation of the PMO system
• Supervise and coordinate the various PMOs positioned on the program streams.
• Harmonize steering practices, methodologies, and tools.
• Ensure the consistency and reliability of information reported by the teams.
• Lead coordination meetings between PMOs.
• Transverse steering and escalation management
• Ensure a consolidated view of the overall program progress.
• Identify risks, blocking points, deviations, and inter-stream dependencies.
• Qualify alerts and manage their escalation to program management.
• Facilitate decision-making and monitor the implementation of action plans.
• Reporting and communication to management
• Consolidate key performance and progress indicators for the program.
• Produce synthetic and high-value reporting for management and governance bodies.
• Prepare materials for steering committees and management committees.
• Highlight points of attention, necessary trade-offs, and expected decisions.
• Provide a clear and factual view of the program's situation.
• Governance and continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with the governance framework and steering processes.
• Structure and validate the monitoring systems for risks, actions, decisions, and dependencies.
• Propose improvements to streamline steering and enhance the effectiveness of the PMO system.
• Proven experience as PMO Lead, PMO Manager, or PMO Director on large-scale programs.
• Good knowledge of ERP implementation programs, ideally SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience in coordinating and managing PMO teams.
• Mastery of governance, reporting, and risk management systems.
• Ability to operate in complex, multi-stakeholder, and highly structured environments.
• Experience in the defense sector or in an industrial environment with strong constraints would be a real asset.
• Excellent synthesis and perspective-taking skills.
• Transverse leadership and ability to unite without necessarily having hierarchical authority.
• Strong analytical and anticipation skills.
• Ease in managing sensitive situations and escalations.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly with high-level management and sponsors.
• Rigor, pragmatism, and results orientation.
