Product Owner Business Continuity Management Information Security (BCM-IB)

Your work matters

Waterschap Vechtstromen must be able to continue its critical processes or recover them within agreed-upon timelines, even during disruptions and emergencies. This requires coherence between Business Continuity Management, information provision, IT, OT, and business processes. The Information Security Action Plan includes various activities related to BCM-IB, which are currently largely carried out separately, even though topics like business impact, ICT continuity, backup, and recovery are strongly interconnected. As Product Owner BCM-IB, you will ensure this task is addressed as one coherent whole.

You will translate BCM-IB gaps into a prioritized backlog and steer towards concrete results that sustainably implement relevant BIO 2.0 controls.

You are an experienced professional who brings structure to an organization-wide continuity task. You understand both the organizational side of BCM-IB and the dependency on information provision, IT, and OT. Additionally:

Positioning

The Product Owner BCM-IB manages the realization of the BCM-IB task and maintains the coherent backlog. You will work closely with information security, process owners, IV, IT, OT, architecture, and management. The role is responsible for prioritization, coherence, progress, and embedding, but does not take over ownership of business continuity. Process owners remain responsible for the continuity of their processes; management organizations remain responsible for their technical facilities.

• you organize the development of Business Impact Analyses for critical processes;
• you ensure that requirements for recovery times, data loss, and availability are explicitly defined;
• you coordinate the development of continuity and recovery scenarios for IT and OT facilities;
• you steer the structural description, testing, and improvement of backup and recovery facilities;
• you prioritize activities based on business impact, risk, dependencies, and feasibility;
• you coordinate with process owners, information security, IV, IT, OT, and other involved disciplines;
• you make progress, risks, and necessary decisions transparent and ensure embedding in the line.

• you have a Bachelor's or Master's work and thinking level;
• you have experience with BCM-IB, IT continuity, or similar issues;
• you have experience with Business Impact Analyses and continuity or recovery plans;
• you have knowledge of BIO and CSIR;
• you understand principles of RTO, RPO, backup, restore, and disaster recovery;
• you have experience with complex IT environments and preferably affinity with OT;
• you can prioritize, steer towards results, and connect different disciplines.
• An established and prioritized BCM-IB backlog.
• Executed Business Impact Analyses for critical processes.
• Defined recovery and continuity requirements.
• Developed and tested ICT continuity and recovery scenarios.
• Demonstrably implemented and periodically tested backup and restore processes.
• Clear embedding of responsibilities in the line organization.
