Production Application Support / DevOps Engineer

Project overview

Context of the mission

We are looking for a Production Application Support Engineer to work within an international banking environment, on a scope of critical applications.

As part of a team responsible for application support and industrialization of production services, you will contribute to maintaining applications in operational condition, automating processes, and continuously improving services.

Main missions

Technical environment

Systems: Linux, Unix, Windows

Scripting and development: Shell, Python, SQL; knowledge of Java, C/C++ appreciated

Automation and DevOps: Ansible, CI/CD, industrialization of operations

Monitoring: Geneos, Dynatrace, or equivalent tools

Application servers: Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, WebSphere

Application exchanges: REST API, SOAP, JSON

Scheduling: notions of Autosys appreciated

Profile sought

Experience in the banking sector, particularly with Core Banking applications or batch processing, is an advantage.

• Provide technical and functional support for applications in production.
• Analyze incidents, identify the causes of malfunctions, and contribute to service restoration.
• Monitor the technical and functional components of applications using monitoring tools.
• Ensure the monitoring and smooth running of batch processes, transfers, and application workflows.
• Participate in the management of production deployments, releases, and application evolutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts, particularly in Shell and Python.
• Contribute to the configuration and industrialization of production environments.
• Participate in the implementation and improvement of DevOps practices, particularly around Ansible and CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyze performance and propose preventive actions to improve stability and service quality.
• Maintain and enrich technical documentation as well as operating procedures.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, development, and support teams in an international environment.
• Ensure the follow-up of actions and project reporting, in compliance with existing procedures and governance.
• Higher education in IT or equivalent experience.
• 6 to 10 years of experience in production application support, IT production, or production engineering.
• Good command of Linux/Unix environments and Shell and/or Python scripts.
• Experience in incident management, monitoring, and maintaining operational readiness.
• Knowledge of automation and industrialization practices for production services.
• Ability to analyze problems, prioritize actions, and work on multiple subjects simultaneously.
• Autonomy, rigor, analytical skills, and good communication skills.
