Project Architect

Project overview

As a project architect, you will contribute to the digitalization of Leiden University within education, research, and operations.

Profile of the suited interim professional:

• Developing Project Start Architectures, target architectures, and solution directions for various university projects
• Assessing project initiatives against Enterprise Architecture principles, standards, laws and regulations, and information security
• Identifying opportunities for harmonization, standardization, and the use of AI and cloud solutions
• Ensuring smooth connection between processes, data, and ICT systems within the chain
• Delivering architectures, ADRs, and advice that provide frameworks for project managers, analysts, and suppliers
• Guiding project teams and suppliers in implementation according to architectural guidelines
• Identifying dependencies, risks, and synergies between projects
• Contributing to the further development and professionalization of the architecture team
• Thinking and working level at HBO or WO level
• Extensive experience as a project, solution, or information architect in complex organizations with diverse stakeholders
• Experience in translating digitalization issues into practically applicable project and solution architectures
• Demonstrable experience in documenting architectural decisions (such as ADRs) and knowledge of frameworks like TOGAF and ArchiMate
• Insight into process design, data governance, and modern IT landscapes (integrations, APIs, Cloud/SaaS)
• Strong communication and advisory skills towards technical, project management, and administrative stakeholders
• Strong command of the Dutch and English languages
