The position

The municipality of Meerssen is looking for an enthusiastic project manager to work on the implementation of the City Vision Meerssen. Are you someone who can translate plans into concrete actions and do you have experience with real estate and entrepreneurs? Then we are looking for you!

What will you do?

The college of mayor and aldermen of Meerssen has recently adopted the City Vision Meerssen Program.

This program aligns with the Spatial Vision Meerssen 2025-2035, which focuses on upgrading, functional mixing, and combating vacancy in the city center and core shopping area. It also aligns with the Future Vision Meerssen and the Administrative Agreement 2026-2030, which identifies tackling vacancy in the center of Meerssen as a spearhead.

The program also provides clarity and legal certainty to property owners regarding the possibilities for transforming ground-floor retail spaces into residences.

The City Vision Meerssen Program was developed with broad involvement from entrepreneurs, property owners, and residents.

As a project manager, you will work on the further elaboration of this program. You will translate the various program lines into a concrete implementation plan with actions that contribute to the objectives of the City Vision.

The execution of these actions may also be part of the assignment.

About the company

The municipality of Meerssen has three departments: Operations, Spatial Planning, and Social Affairs. In total, approximately 150 employees work there. In this role, you will work within the Management and Administrative Support team of the Operations department.

• We are looking for an enthusiastic and results-oriented project manager who possesses:
• Bachelor's degree level of thinking and working.
• Experience with real estate and entrepreneurs.
• Experience with municipal procedures and a commercial background.
• The ability to translate an adopted program into a concrete and executable plan.
• Availability of 24 hours per week for 20 weeks starting January 1, 2027.
• Competitive fixed salary, depending on knowledge and experience;
• 25 vacation days and 8.33% holiday allowance;
