The position

For the implementation and further professionalization of the municipal vehicle fleet, we are looking for an experienced Project Manager Fleet Management.

The municipality has recently centralized its vehicle fleet. To comply with stricter fiscal obligations regarding trip registration and to gain more control over costs, sustainability, safety, and vehicle availability, we are looking for a professional who can manage and implement this development project.

What will you do?

As a project manager, you are responsible for realizing the preconditions for professional fleet management. You will introduce structure, develop policy, and ensure the successful implementation of processes and systems.

About the company

The Municipality of Weert is a public organization in the middle of Limburg, consisting of approximately 400 employees dedicated to customer-oriented service and citizen participation.

The administrative structure includes the municipal council as the general board, the college of mayor and aldermen for daily management, and the mayor as representative and enforcer of public order.

At the administrative level, the organization is divided into several departments, such as Space & Economy, Public Space, and Care & Participation, each led by a department head and supported by a team structure.

• Implementing and setting up a trip registration system.
• Establishing processes for fleet management, monitoring, and reporting.
• Executing and organizing fiscal checks on trip registrations.

• HBO (higher professional education) work and thinking level.
• Experience within a municipal or other government organization is a major plus.
• Demonstrable experience as a project manager, implementation manager, or advisor in mobility, facility management, or fleet management.
• Strong organizational, communication, and advisory skills.
• Knowledge of fiscal regulations regarding trip registration and vehicle use is a plus.
• Affinity with sustainability, mobility, and government tasks.
